central booking. it was november 26 when baltimore city police arrived at this apartment building on the 300 block of east 27th street. he was asking someone passing miti used his cell phone to call 911. we're told he checked on his son and noticed the infant was making a strange noise like he was having trouble breathing. we're told police picked up his son and tried to assess -- resuscitate him. he realized he was pushing too hard while doing cpr. he admitted holding his son and claimed as he tried to put the child into the playpen, he fell out of his arms and fell to the hardwood floor, striking his face. he picked of his son and wiped his face and put him in the playpen.

he noticed that troubles having trouble breathing. he observed his son was not breathing. he attempted to perform cpr but could not revive him. autopsy results say the infant had multiple fractured revs, other injuries, and bruises. the death was ruled a homicide. the medical examiner determined the injuries were not consistent with a child simply being dropped to the floor. >> the investigation into a deadly break-in in glen burnie continues. a store employee shot and killed someone who entered a coin shop in baltimore and annapolis boulevard. keith phillip died. so far, no charges have been

filed. >> the boy is in critical condition after being in a car that struck a tow truck. the incident, happened at 10:00 p.m. last night. the 7-year-old was in the front passenger's seat when the driver, lisa middledorf, struck them. the investigation is ongoing. >> three people are in the care of the red cross following a fire. this is a photo on skagssville road. it was put out quickly. investigators are trying to determine what started the fire. another fire in baltimore county before 13:30 a.m. a chimney fire had spread to the

break the windshield of his father's truck. when police arrived becker did not settle down. when they got to the scene, the approach the subject. he still had a hammer. >> when the officer saw him walking down the street toward them they exited their vehicles and shouted several times to becker to drop the hammer and surrender. becker refused. he continued to approach the officers. >> once he got within arm's length and raised the hammer, the officer feared for his life and charged -- discharged one round, striking him in the upper torso. >> becker was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. we attempted to speak to his family but they were too distraught to make a comment after their phone call took a tragic turn. >> i am pretty sure the reason they made a phone call is if you have a subject with a hammer that could be a danger to

temperature climbed into the -- temperatures climb into the 40's. the other good news is the steady rain has come to an end. heading up into new jersey. leaving behind scattered showers. the steady rain is gone but often not showers will be with us through tomorrow morning. the wind has been casting around the top of the storm close to 40 miles an hour. the 42 mile an hour gusts in easton. 41 in westminster. the wind will stay with us into tomorrow morning. everything will wraparound behind it. the wind direction will shift from the northeast to the northwest tomorrow but it still will be windy as the storm pulls away. there is another storm upstream waiting for sign saturday.
